Position Summary:
The Director of Information Technology is the most senior I.T position at our client and will report to the Vice President of Operations. This position will fulfill a “hands on” technical role for our client’s Information Technology organization that includes Applications, Infrastructure, and Oracle Supply Chain. The Candidate must have expertise in the area of Oracle Supply Chain implementations, Applications design and development, Storage management, managing vendors, managing financials, project management including strategy, systems analysis, planning, programming, project management, operations, computer and auxiliary operations, business solutions delivery, and the ability to drive change throughout the organization by recommending and implementing new technologies.

The Director will fulfill a key role in the decision making, operations and support of the infrastructure and applications environment. The Candidate must have excellent customer relationship skills and must have the skills to mentor and motivate staff, develop solutions with the business, develop methods for increasing revenues, decreasing costs, and increasing efficiencies.

Under corporation planning, develops policies and procedures, technical standards, methods and schedules. Oversee the strategic working relationship between IT and other functions within the organization. Maintain awareness of developments in IT, computer hardware and software for long- and short-term plans for acquisition and implementation of new equipment and techniques.

Infrastructure Environment: Environment includes Development, Test, User Acceptance Test, and Production. Candidate must have experience with the following and have the ability to drive Infrastructure upgrades.

Financial Scope: Resource Planning & Management, development of budgets, Return On Investment information, and reporting on financial status.

Principal Tasks %
1. Operations: Evaluate current IT infrastructure and identify technologies to improve security, scalability and reliability of the overall environment. Develop and maintain company-wide security and Business Continuity plans. Disaster recovery planning, training and documentation. Implement IT practices, processes and controls for system security, data warehousing, performance tuning and capacity planning. Partner with senior management to help plan and coordinate both short- and long-term systems strategy and implementation. 20%
2. Project Management: Direct all projects related to selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems for the company. Provide leadership to the business analysis and application development functions in implementing new process and new system solutions in order to make the company operations more efficient. Direct IT projects to ensure successful results are achieved and conduct software evaluations. Utilize professional project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Serve as liaison between non-technical business units and IT, communicating technical information and plans. 20%
3. Architecture: Oversee the design and maintenance of the company’s IT systems architecture. Provide operational and strategic direction to the business analysis and application development groups. Partner with internal business units while providing an integral function in the planning, development, and deployment of new technologies and business solutions within the organization. Investigate current and emerging technologies and evaluate how they may support the company’s business objectives. Evaluate and select application development tools that best meet the company’s technical requirements. Responsible for all new development and/or modifications to the business application system. 20%
4. Manage staff to ensure they are performing effectively through cross training and performance development. Manage the staff members to accomplish Company goals and objectives. Ensure Company policies and procedures are communicated, applied and enforced consistently. 10%
5. Responsible for special projects as assigned by Executive Management. 10%
Technology Requirements
1. Must have experience in Oracle eBusiness Suite environment
2. MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
3. Must have knowledge of Infrastructure, networks, programming telecommunications, media, and storage management as noted below:
 Sun Operating system
 EMC storage management
 Windows 2003
4. Implementation of large scale applications including financial systems, supply chain, and reporting systems. Ability to lead the team through architecture and design of applications
5. Software Development Lifecycle expertise (Design, Development, Test, Implementation, User Acceptance) and the development of processes and procedures that will drive a standard throughout I.T
6. Change Control experience. Ability to refine processes to ensure that proper check in / check of application code processes are in place.
7. Development of coding standards
8. Identify if the technology stack in place is sufficient for growth and expandability for the business
9. Identify leading edge tools to drive efficiencies (Project Management, Source code management, change control, SDLC processes)
10. Develop a roadmap for leading the technology organization towards new, sophisticated technologies that will help transform the business and drive revenues
11. Disaster Recovery planning and execution
12. Data Center management including power and cooling
13. Ability to translate the business strategy to technology solutions
14. Must be available 24×7 (on call).

1. Manage a team of 11 employees plus outside consultants

4. Hire a high performing team (fill open positions)
5. Planning, organization and development.
6. Leadership ability and experience in strategic technology planning, execution and policy development including tactical implementation

9. Respond to multiple evolving priorities/projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency
10. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with a Customer Service driven attitude.

Work Experience
10+ years I.T managerial experience. Must have held positions in the role of a Director or Vice President in a technical capacity.

Academic Requirements: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited university and IT Certifications.
