Technical Manager
Assist clients with the design, configuration, extension, development, and onsite support of the Company’s solution to meet client’s WCM enterprise needs. Manage day-to-day Company client needs and provide outstanding client services. The On-site Technical Manager is responsible for building and supporting innovative client solutions using the Company platform and the latest web technologies. S/he works closely with Company clients and team members to rapidly build and deploy enterprise WCM solutions. S/he is a self-motivated individual who can work well with internal and client organizations to drive projects and corrective measures in support of Company client projects. S/he will also be responsible for providing day-to-day account management coordination for the client.
Duties and Responsibilities
 Consult with project managers, solution architects and project teams to establish appropriate implementation strategy, methods and plans for strategic initiatives that impact multiple or organization-wide systems, workflows or products with high risk.
 Install, integrate, test and deploy Company platform.
 Communicate to clients and partners aspects of both the product and the implementation at the technical and/or functional level appropriate for the situation.
 Gather, analyze and document post-sales requirements.
 Work with clients during and post implementation for user testing, debugging, support and maintenance.
 Manage project scope, schedule, status and documentation.
 Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
 Develop and deliver technical training designed to enable/educate client implementation partners.
 Lead the development of complex business requirements.
 Evaluate current business practices and policies and recommends most effective integration strategy.
 May present alternative solutions to project manager, solution architect and/or senior management.
 Design communication and training strategies, including identifying the appropriate learning process and timing.
 Work with client and Company teams and users to understand complex problems and focuses on bringing issues to resolution, escalating as necessary to meet timelines.
 Identify best practices and creates new workflows and/or procedures.
 May provide mentoring, guidance and expertise to less experienced staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
 Five plus years of professional work experience as part of an enterprise software company or systems integrator. Three plus years of enterprise software implementation experience.
 Three plus years of web programming including technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, Python, Perl, JSP/Servlets, AJAX, SQL and XSLT
 Experience with Java EE, MVC Framework (Struts, Spring and Hibernate), LAMP, Enterprise Security/SSO and SOA
 Experience with web technologies such as XML, SPML/SOAP, Flash, Web and Application Servers and web protocols.
 Experience setting up and installing software on both Windows and Unix (Linux, Sun, HP, AIX) platforms.
 Experience with Databases (Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, MySQL), Directories (LDAP, AD), enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft) a plus.
 Familiarity with identity management provisioning systems (Sun, Oracle, IBM, Novell) and Single Sign-on a plus. Familiarity with RBAC a plus.
 Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
 Experience and applied knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies is preferred.
 Experience with QA duties is a plus (usability testing, performance testing, automated testing, test scripts, test cases and test plans).
 Knowledge of enterprise WCM, SaaS, PaaS or Managed Services platforms.
 Familiar with business application, database, middleware, OS, virtualization, server, storage and networking technologies.
 Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills, presentation, customer service, business and negotiation skills.
 Experience in Media/Entertainment, CPG and Service Provider industries preferred.
 Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree a plus.
 Java EE certification is a plus.
 Applicant must reside in Michigan, TX, NY, RI or Connecticut – (some Telecommuting is an option)
 Experience in a startup company is a plus.
