TITLE: Systems Application Administrator

LOCATION: Valencia, CA (Must live locally. NO remote and client does not offer relocation assistance)

DURATION: This is an FTE/ Direct Hire position

SALARY: To be Discussed

HIERARCHY/ REPORT TO: IT Dev Manager

STAFF TO OVERSEE:  none

JOB OVERVIEW:

Looking for a Systems Application Administrator who has heavy applications experience. The primary function of this position is to provide centralized application software support for enterprise applications including installation, testing, evaluation, maintenance, and training of software applications.

If you are somebody who loves to learn new, off the shelf and custom applications and take the lead to become the business unit Subject Matter Expert, we want you.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform software installations/updates
• Provide technical knowledge to accomplish evaluation of new software
• Troubleshoot systems and applications issues
• Maintain version control of adopted applications
• Monitor the health and performance of all servers, PCs and all other SHC computing environments
• System Administration of Windows-based server farm and 300+ node PC environment
• Backup assist Network Administrator on management of LAN/WAN
• Experience managing application integration to/from AS/400 CORE System (company is 65% complete migrating off AS400)
• Ability to assist with maintenance of our computing network
• Provide formal user training
• Required to document and write operating procedures
• Assist staff with software product compatibility issues
• Provide the computer user community with technical solutions to inquiries
• Create and maintain a support service relationship with the computer user community
• Backup Telecommunications Administrator on management of phone systems and voice lines
• Provide periodic formal instruction to staff on software products that have been adopted as standard

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years practical work experience or equivalent work experience preferred
• Knowledge of computer applications (e.g. MS Exchange 2000/2010/Outlook 2000/2003, MS Office, Visio, etc.)
• Strong background in MS Windows server and workstation operating systems
• On-hands experience with multiple MS Windows software versions
• Working knowledge of network routers, switches and hubs in an Ethernet-based infrastructure environment
• Significant experience in developing written documentation
• Excellent organization skills
• Ability to host formal training sessions
• Keen ability to evaluate user requirements and provide support solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
