TITLE: Agile IT Project Manager (Epic EMR Focus)
CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED: US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Green Card
LOCATION: NY, but REMOTE. (only in office if requested – travel & lodging paid for by client)
DURATION: tentatively 3-month contract to hire
COMPENSATION: Contract to hire pay rate: $100-$135hr
HIERARCHY/REPORT TO: Partner of consulting firm
SIZES OF STAFF TO MANAGE: none at first, but proven experience mentoring and building a development team
EDUCATION/ DEGREES/ CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelors+
INTERVIEW PROCESS: Will immediately dig into qualifying skills and gauge for professional and articulate communication skills

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of IT project management experience, with at least 2 years focused on Epic EMR-related projects.
- Solid understanding of Epic modules such as Resolute, Cadence, Prelude, or others.
- Strong working knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
- Proven experience leading Agile teams in a healthcare or consulting environment.
- Ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and manage competing priorities.
- Outstanding communication, stakeholder engagement, and organizational skills.
- Experience in healthcare IT environments, especially with provider organizations like hospitals or health systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar Agile/PM certification.
- Previous consulting experience with healthcare IT or digital transformation.
- Experience using Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or other healthcare integration standards.
- Ability to translate technical discussions into clear business terms for non-technical audiences.
Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Agile IT Project Manager with a deep understanding of Epic EMR systems and healthcare operations. This individual will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams and delivering high-impact technology projects, particularly within Epic environments, including implementation, optimization, and system enhancements.
This role will require strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, the ability to manage fast-moving deliverables, and the interpersonal finesse to work with both technical and clinical stakeholders across various departments. Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience with Epic modules and understand the nuances of healthcare IT and operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Epic-related project initiatives (e.g., implementation, optimization, integration, upgrades) using Agile project management principles.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Epic analysts, IT engineers, clinical staff, and leadership to define and deliver project objectives.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
- Document and track user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks or roadblocks to ensure project success.
- Maintain alignment with compliance standards, data privacy regulations (HIPAA), and change management best practices.
- Deliver timely status reports and project updates to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Cultivate strong client relationships and maintain T2 Tech’s reputation for excellence in delivery.
